Zuzana is a postdoctorand at the Department of Physical Chemistry at the Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. Her research is currently focused on the study of biodegradable materials for orthopedic applications. Temporary implants do not have to be resected after a reparative bone process due to programmable corrosion and gradual degradation of the material in the body. Zuzana cooperates with the Institute of Materials Research and the Institute of Geotechnics of SAS, actively. She defended her dissertation work on the topic Nanostructured functional surfaces for applications in biosystem in 2018. During her doctoral studies she worked on the research of the diagnosis of cancer of the blood plasma by surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) using electrochemically prepared silver detection substrates. She published the results of her doctoral thesis in the current Journal of Biomedical Optics, Metals and others. Currently she is a co-researcher of the VEGA and APVV projects and she is a member of Slovak Chemical Society. Zuzana is active in the presentation of the Institute of Chemistry on Institute´s Open days, European Researchers´ Night, etc.
