APVV-24-0033 Advanced ceramic coatings for 3D printed titanium implants
Laura Slabejová is a researcher in chemical sciences at the Department of Physical Chemistry, Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice. She studied biology and chemistry at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s degree in 2023 and Master’s degree in 2025. In her Bachelor’s and Master’s theses, she focused on degradable biomaterials based on iron with various improvements, such as the addition of copper or polymer coatings with bioactive antibacterial supplements, in order to develop materials suitable for medical devices.
During her studies, she presented the results of her research at the Student Research Conference at UPJŠ, where she claimed first place in 2025. She also received a diploma from the Slovak Chemical Society for the best Master’s thesis in the field of chemistry at the Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice in the academic year 2024/2025.
Currently, she is part of the research team of the project S2D App (App Driven Multisensor Solution: Bridging Sensors to Digits). Her focus in this project is the modification of electrochemical sensors based on copper for insulin detection.
